Google

I use Google daily. I trust it with my information completely but at the same time I don't look up anything that I'm scared of anyone knowing. That is the key to keeping our privacy. If we don't want anyone to know information, then we can't just put it out there. Google gives us so much in return for what we give it. I don't think Google will do anything to turn on it's users. Google is here to stay as we know it in my opinion. I think improvements are the only changes we will see.

The Cloud and Where do good ideas come from?

I use the cloud every single day. For multiple uses too. I use Netflix on a daily basis. I will watch a show in the morning, continue watching when I have free time at school, and finish when I get home. I also use Google docs on my iPad at home and on computers at school. The cloud is an unbelievable source of technology. It helps us to be able to do things on the go or when we have little time to do what we need to. I love the cloud. Now, where do good ideas come from. They come from everywhere. People have great ideas all the time. It's those that actually take note of theirs and do something that create amazing things.

Virtual Revolution part 3

Honestly this is something I have grown up with so I honestly don't know if I really know how I feel. I am not bothered by the fact that other people can see the things I search or do online. I am not ashamed of one single thing I do on here. I also don't think it is my business to look at other people's searches and websites they have browsed. That is their personal information. The same is for me. Although it doesn't bother me, it is my personal business and nobody should care what I am on or what I look up but I am not bothered if they do. It is the world we live in and we have to adapt or get left behind.

Music Copyrights

How do they effect me? They effect me because if I make a video or slide show and I use someone's music, I need permission first. Who from? The label and the composer or songwriter. I have made a music video before and I used someone else' music. I put it on YouTube and it got taken down because of copyright violation. I then realized that I never got permission. Now I know.

The Internet

The internet as we know it is very much taken for granted. All the sites we get on every day are ran by thousands of people and we can get on them at the click of a mouse. There is so much behind the scenes work that goes on to make this amazing thing possible. Understanding what makes it all work can be quite complicated but if we really pay attention it can be rather fascinating.

Tyler & Pete's sites

None of the sites privacy policies really differed that much. They all needed the same basic contact information: name, email, password. Some of the sites like sugarsync and box needed payment information and address. None share information with 3rd party websites. Most gave you the option to make your personal information exactly that; personal. They allow you and only you to see it or you can make some information public. Most all the categories in the privacy policy were almost exactly identical though.

This weeks blog

I think the sites we learned of can all be very useful. They can help us organize, share, and discover other information. I am ready to go further with usage on these websites to see just how they can really help us. I am definitely going to share them with friends. The more people that I know that use them the funner they can be.

iPad With 4G LTE Technology Makes It a Truly Global Tablet

The iPad 3 can be used in over 300 countries so you can take it almost anywhere and get coverage. Now when you go on vacation or on a business trip that you can take it with you. Both AT&T and Verizon have the option to buy a iPad with global capabilities. No more buying sim cards and all that other junk for traveling abroad. I just want to see the day when we can use phones/tablets/etc. in planes, ships, and on deserted islands.

Today's Lesson in Review

Today I learned a lot about digital footprints. I learned good ways to clear your history as well. I don't like the fact that your job could be in jeopardy over Facebook, Twitter, MySpace, etc. We need to have a law that gives us online privacy. We should be able to surf the Internet with peace of mind. Not always wondering who's looking over our shoulder. The Internet should be a place where we can look at what we want without anyone's consent.

Digital Footprints

I really dislike the face that my cookies and cache stay on the computer forever. I am going to start deleting them just so I can have peace of mind browsing. I am also considering deleting Facebook and Twitter. I do not want to risk a future job over something so simple. I am definitely going to start deleting my cache and cookies.

KU intro video for basketball games. Amazing. Gives you chills

This weeks stuff

This week we have used blogging and diigo a little more. I am still quite new to the whole diigo thing but I think if I keep spending time with it I can use it to my advantage. I would like to advance what we do in this class to other things outside google and blogging. I do like what I am learning though!

My Weekly Reflection (Last Week)

Last week I used Google Docs for the first time to make a powerpoint presentation. It makes it much easier to do projects with friends. I also learned ways to trust a website. Stay away from bad sites! I can't wait to learn more things this week!!

My Video Reaction

I agreed with a lot of it. I do think we should be able to use computers and tablets more in the school environment. Us teens seem to be more interested and involved with that so why wouldn't we learn better like that?
